Community Rules

Version 2026-11-01 · updated 2026-11-01

CODbattles only works if matches are fair and results are honest. These rules apply to every player and clan.

1. Respect

No harassment, hate speech, threats or doxxing, in matches, clan pages or anywhere on CODbattles.

2. Fair play

  • No cheats, hacks, exploits or third-party tools that give an advantage.
  • Only players on your roster play. Using a "ringer" (someone else playing under a roster name) is not allowed.
  • Report results honestly, per map. A live photo of the scoreboard taken with CODbattles' camera is the strongest evidence: when reports disagree it can settle the result automatically, and the other clan can still dispute it within 24 hours. Uploaded screenshots are welcome, but only moderators look at them.
  • Names on a scoreboard that match nobody in the lineups are flagged to moderators as possible ringers. Nobody is penalised automatically.
  • Be on time: check in between 15 minutes before and 15 minutes after the start. A team that doesn't check in loses by forfeit.

3. Reporting cheaters

Cheat reports are filed from the match room by the opposing team, within 7 days, with evidence. Fake or abusive reports are themselves a violation.

4. Sanctions

  • First minor offence: a warning.
  • Strikes (expire after 60 days) for toxicity, false score reports, abusive reports or ringers.
  • 3 active strikes: suspended for 14 days; the next time 30 days; the third time permanently.
  • Immediate permanent ban for cheating, threats, doxxing or forging a verification. A cheater's matches in the current season are overturned and their Activision ID is blocklisted.
  • Using or claiming someone else's Activision ID on purpose (impersonation): a strike, or a ban in serious cases.
  • Clans get strikes too (repeated no-shows, false reports by leaders, fielding ringers). 3 active clan strikes: suspended from the ladder for the rest of the season.

5. Appeals

You can appeal each sanction once, within 7 days. A different moderator or an admin reviews it.

6. Transparency

Bans are public (name, reason category, date and duration). Every moderator action is logged.
